Pho started life in Clerkenwell and lays claim to London's first Vietnamese street food restaurant. Now found in some of London’s busiest shopping hubs - Westfield, Oxford Circus and Soho. Pho serves tasty, good value food - a welcome break during your Christmas shopping madness.
We started with ‘Goi Cuon’ a healthy Vietnamese take on spring rolls, filled with prawns, noodles and fresh mint wrapped in soft rice paper with chilli dipping sauce on the side. We also had the chicken and prawn noodle crepe, following the waiter’s instructions on how to wrap each bite in a fresh lettuce leaf before dipping in sweet chilli oil. So far so good!
With five traditional options for mains - noodle soups, salads, curries, stir fries and flat noodles (all available with a tofu option). We chose the Prawn Curry which at £8.95 is the most expensive dish on the menu. Full of satisfyingly big, juicy tiger prawns and fresh veg all cooked in a satay sauce we weren’t disappointed. The Chicken and Noodle stir fry, full of fresh veg with a light sweet chilli dressing another tasty dish, although we were a tad miffed the noodles were served cold.
With fresh produce used in all of Pho’s food right down to their juices and sorbets, it’s a great healthy option - you would being making a ‘Pho Pas’ not to try it!
