Pure are a small group of stores which serve up healthy dishes to hungry Londoners on a daily basis - bar Sunday. Everything in the stores, aka "working kitchens", is made on site from fresh ingredients which contain no unnecessary preservatives, additives, sugar, salt or fat.
With the latest store opening on Shaftesbury Avenue just last month, we popped along to sample some lunch, The stores offer a huge selection of options; from Salads, Soups and Wraps to Flat Breads, Noodle Boxes and Toasties. They even do a Big Mack - but don't worry it's actually a mackerel salad not a *meat patty.
We tried the Celebrity Skin salad, a generous portion of Scottish, hot-smoked salmon, avocado, cashews, cucumber and tomato on mixed leaves. What's more there are a good selection of dressings to choose from so that you can give the salad your own spin. We went for the Sweet Chilli and Lime which added a tangy kick.
The Koh Prawngan salad was equally as good, king prawns, avocado, sesame ginger noodles, petit pois, broccoli and radish on crunchy Cos. We also sampled two of the fresh juices, the Anti-Oxidizer and Summer Loving both made to order.
We ended with the Sicilian lemon cheesecake which was packed with zesty Sicilian lemon posset on top of a crunchy ginger biscuit base. The After Eight (am) was a light, fluffy 70% cocoa chocolate mouse with a hint of fresh mint.
If this is healthy food, then we are converts!
